Jeffrey A. McGuire
Evangelist at Acquia
I am an open source evangelist working in developer relations with a strong following at the intersection of open source software, business, and culture. A frequent keynote speaker at events around the world, I write and speak about technology, community, and more on weekly podcasts and on the web. In 2014 and 2015, I gave 20+ conference presentations (5-10 of them keynotes) while driving significant site traffic for Acquia--a 700-strong, $120M revenue company--with blog, podcast, and video content. I am a charismatic and effective communicator in many formats and in front of live audiences large and small.
I speak three languages fluently, have expertise in remote and in-person team dynamics, and am a natural networker. My interest lies in the intersection between humans and technology. Specifically, communicating the business value inherent in technology and its origins to business, government, and other audiences; facilitating the communication and understanding between technology and business teams; and making specialist topics relevant and easily understood by non-experts.
Previously, as the Manager of Community Affairs at Acquia, my work enhanced Acquia’s relationship with the Drupal project and community by highlighting the company’s contributions. I was and remains an advocate for the Drupal project, building relationships with other technology communities, and helping the growth and success of open source solutions by coaching service providers and end-users in the open source value proposition.
Before that, I was a member of Acquia’s Engineering team. As Senior Writer, I combined 10 years of experience as a writer and translator with my knowledge of Drupal and the web, producing the documentation for Acquia’s entire first run of products.
Before joining Acquia, I worked as a Drupal site builder and consultant, as a technical writer and translator, and as a professional musician. I hold a Master’s degree and an advanced diploma in performance.
Acquia is the digital experience company. Intuit, Warner Music Group and Stanford University are among the more than 4,000 organizations that are transforming their digital businesses with Acquia’s open cloud platform. Global 2000 enterprises, government agencies and NGOs rely on Acquia to create new revenue streams, lower costs, and engage audiences more deeply through content, community, commerce and context.
